I was inspired by the quite unreal Sony Bravia 'Sony 4K Demo Video for BRAVIA OLED PINBALL' by The Mill and attempted to make something similar. For a while, I had been thinking about a good subject to demo pretty much all 3D-disciplines, as well as graphic and sound design, within one project. A vintage pinball machine animation was a good subject to that end.
Some geometries were modeled from Illustrator splines. Here, scripts from Hiroyuki Sato, particularly Common Tangents and Metaball, were useful.
The bumper animation was made with Cinema 4D dynamics and Xpresso visual programming.
The ornaments were inspired by renaissance drawings, while the artwork on the back wall is based on the plan for the first skyscrapers in Finland, in the Kalastama district of Helsinki. City photo By Joneikifi - Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=87781078
